I love the Joseph Arthur song, “We Stand As One”. The energy of it feels soft and at the same time it creates an inevitability, like a wave.
I love it, too.
Also, new, look at this!

Tee hee hee!
Did anyone watch that first video? I think that’s really where we’re at. I think we’re rediscovering 1940′s truths. I’d like to not be alone in this insight.

Obama’s “support” and “talking” plus $5 will buy a jobless Iowan a sandwich. Whoopee.
Exactly.

My Tracfone costs $21 for 90 days and 60 minutes of usage(which rollover). It works pretty well for me-though I don’t like yakking on the phone so I only use it when necessary-I use email more since I’m paying for internet access anyway-you might want to check them out.
I think your work on #Occupy has been extraordinary. Don’t listen to any naysayers or let them get to you.

Thank you, from the bottom of my heart.
That’s about what my cricket phone is. But Cricket has unlimited local minutes, and my phone serves as the phone for the whole neighborhood.

What do you think of this, TarheelDem. The US is swimming in unemployed techno dweebs (military and civilian trained) on “food stamps” that would love to do this work if they had the sponsorship.
Men’s Wearhouse – Oakland?
No doubt some of those techno-dweebs are helping the movement already with figuring out livestreaming, for example.
There are needed innovations. Lighter livestreaming equipment. Multiple phones seem to work but are not always coordinated, folks tend to swarm with their phones. Another innovation would be an inexpensive, lightweight and maneuverable steadicam set up to reduce the shaking in the livestream.
That said, what the cops are currently doing to defeat observation is to send enough officers to surround their action area with a wall of police to make it difficult to see what is happening in the arrests.

Woot! Cheers for my native state.
This is perfect work, say, for the single daddy mechanical engineer I pleaded with to not be a contractor in Afghanistan so he wouldn’t get blown away by a landmine trying to feed his kids. That group of folks (e.g. civil engr, power systems, linemen, etc. anyone to do with field operations) really is just hanging on one way or another.

Not to sound cynical, but would this be an attempt to co-opt and/or defang Wolf-Pac?
I think that’s a very logical hypothesis given everything we know to date. !Toma la bolsa!

What a f’ing joke. Like anyone is falling for *that*. Quan is toast.
Here’s one to follow today.
My guess is that the Richmond PD is trying to find out who the leader of Occupy Richmond is through selective release.

Watch out for this Kossack:

Jill: An Open Letter To The Oakland Police Officers’ Association
Focus on the content of the letter, not the site it’s on.
Fuck Yeah !
That is the best response to the administrative mess that is Oakland I have ever read. Quan is a fricking idiot for interfering vs. leading and OPD needs to chillax. The “mayor” can support the protest in many ways besides actually protesting. exhibit A: Albany NY. she really lacks imagination and leadership. She is awful.
Oh and I heard a radio report that often the Code of Conduct policies for PDs are often just paperwork submitted for insurance coverage. You know, more like guidelines….
“guidelines” = pre-emptive CYA
Plausible denial through assertion that “bad apples” were not following guidelines.
“Strike Occupy Shut them down, Oakland is the people’s town”
Ahh, that was my thought, too.
Trying to kick the can down the road to have it both ways to cover their asses. Talk about setting up a “but we were just following orders” defense.
Plus, where’s the documentation of so-called “rioting and violence” caused by Occupy? From what I’ve read, which isn’t a whole lot, I admit, things didn’t get violent and riotous until the Riot Police showed up at 4am looking for a fight.
Talk about not getting it.
Read @65
I just did. Delighted you linked to it. She said it better and with far more authority than I could have dreamed of doing myself. I really hope that goes viral.
I didn’t follow her link to the nasty comments about Scott Olsen, though. Just knowing he’s being slandered does bad things to my blood pressure. Not saying I’m surprised, cops blaming their victims is nothing new after all. Just saying it makes me mad.
