This is nobody’s American Dream.
Ah, but for the big guys on Wall Street it is.
Good Morning, Occupy!
Find some way to use your vote today on Super Tuesday. Even if you don’t have an election in your state, vote with your wallet. Or not! NOT would be better.
Remember Bradly Manning. I went on a search for updates. Got Nothing. Even his Attorney’s place has nothing.
First it was February, then it was October, then it was November. When will he have a hearing?

He’s having his 24th birthday very soon. It will be his second birthday in prison.
I am 23. Bradley is just a bit older than me. What he is going through is atrocious and he deserves due process now.
PP, he already had his trial, don’t you remember? I mean, King 0 has already proclaimed guilt, so he clearly gave careful consideration to the details of the case, which means all that’s left is a trivial sentencing phase, but that’s really just a formality, and His Majesty would prefer if we would all just stop thinking about it.
What is she complaining about? She can still afford fingernail polish, so how bad can it be?

Maybe instead of putting all the extra work into this sign with all the cutesy colors she would be better off dropping off resumes and filling out applications. Quit whining. Nobody is forcing anyone to take out student loans. She knew the agreement going into it. Has no one to blame but herself.
prima facie of my previous.
self evident example
Heh
That’s almost as good as the argument that the 1% makes that there isn’t “real” poverty in the US because the poor have cell phones. Nevermind, that you can pick one up for under $10 and you basically need one if you are seeking employment.
Actually, sadly enough, she probably didn’t. That’s why there is legislation in Congress right now that helps “explain” exactly what you would have to look forward to if you take out a student loan. Up until you are 18 you can’t enter into contractual agreements. It isn’t surprising that when they hit 18 that they have no idea that for every $10,000 they borrow that they’re looking at $100 of debt for the next 10 years. That’s just for the student loans. Four years at a state university? Multiply that by 4.
Considering a college student can’t exactly hold down a full time position without having their studies affected and that predatory lenders are more than happy to hand them credit cards, it isn’t surprising that college is more a drain on our youth then an actual boon anymore.
Sad really. The business community issn’t going to get their “educated” work force if they insist on raping and pillaging the youth in order for them to attain it.
Most of these kids are wasting their time with bullshit sociology and other liberal arts degrees that aren’t doing a thing for “an educated workforce” As far as not being to hold down a job, that is B.S. as well. Many students choose to work during their studies and are still able to find success in the classroom. If you can’t afford to go or are unwilling to deal with the ramifications of borrowing money or working while in school then you don’t have anyone to complain to but yourself. Its not Wall Street’s fault your parents raised you to be a lazy asshole with no work ethic and no sense of responsibility. These punks need to grow up. Just pathetic.
Thou shalt not feed.
Good question, PP.
I’ve been looking too.
It’s like he fell off the face of the earth.
If you find anything, please post it on many threads.
We all need to know.
I see that HeadedWest’s sockpuppet is back. Behave accordingly.
Yes, I even have a razor and some shaving cream saved for when I need to meet a potential client.
But I do get your point.
I really don’t understand why you pop your empty head up at this site from time to time, it’s not like your going to change anyones mind.
You may consider it bullshit to learn about human nature but I assure you that it’s an important skill set. Advertising succeeeds or fails depending on how well a person connects with a product. Human resources in business sector can utilize these skill sets to match employees with jobs. With 1 in 6 people reliant on social services the government could utilize these people to help fix some of the problems with our social safety nets (and I assure you they are numerous.)
Only an idiot would call any kind of education a waste. And only someone with a lack of imagination would consider “people skills” something worthy of derision or unemployable skill sets.
As for Wall Street being responsible, they are the predatory lenders I spoke of. And YES, they do have some responsibility if they are lenders to ensure that the money they lend can be paid back. Unless, of course, you believe the taxpayers ought to be on the hook for their rampant lending to people who according to you are not going to be employable. Stop making excuses for bad behavior for big business while blaming young individuals for those exact decisions, it makes you look moronic.
Yes, the big bad banks and universities made them do it. There’s no such thing as personal responsibility any more.
Lenders are at risk if these students don’t pay back the money. Now the government wants to get into that game as they can’t lose. They grant lower rates and those who CAN pay back do, while the ones who won’t pay back get their loans eventually forgiven. Either way, the government curries favor and buys votes. And you and I, the taxpayers, foot the bill.
But we DO need a tn more French Lit majors, don’t we?
Oh and then there is this gem. 56% of the Millenium generation say they would turn down a well-paying job if the employer prevented them from accessing social media sites pan company time. Yeah, that generation has its priorities in order.
