Musicians David Crosby & Graham Nash, who both have been playing music for over forty years and are best known for their work as members of the band Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, visited Occupy Wall Street in the afternoon on November 8. They played a set for occupiers in Liberty Square that was about 20 minutes long.
Songs they performed included “They Want It All” off of their double album Crosby & Nash, which was released in 2004; “Military Madness,” a song Graham Nash recorded for his solo album Songs for Beginners, which was released in 1971; “Long Time Gone,” a song written by David Crosby for the album Crosby, Stills & Nash, which was released in 1969 and was performed at Woodstock; and “Teach Your Children,” a song written by Graham Nash that first appearedĀ on the Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young album Deja Vu in 1970.
Thanks, kramtv63, for posting these clips of their performance.

Good evening all.
Dropped off my supplies for OWS today. Will post diary about my observations tomorrow morning (sometime after an early morning meeting).
One very funny anecdote here though.
I tried to find Zucotti Park on google map which was extraordinarily unhelpful. Lots of little streets in the area, which had no street names, and the BIG one that borders on the east, Broadway, the street name was off the magnification I was using to hone in on the location.
So I dropped off the supplies at 62 Bway, then asked for ZP. It’s about 3-4 blocks north I was told.
When I got there, I realized that the first job I had working in the Wall St area was in a building that is on the south side of the park. In those days (ca 1974), the ‘park’ was mostly a block of uninviting, unused (except to walk diagonally across if that made your trek shorter) concrete. My office on the 5th floor of 115 Bway, the bldg in the background in the videos, overlooked the ‘park.’
It’s a tiny space, isn’t it?
Looks like the old hippies are coming out of the woodwork to support each other. This movement is across all the lines of the people now.
I wonder if Obama remembers he said “make me do it” ???
Good on ya, eCAHN
Speaking of performances, KRS-ONE is playing tonight 6:00 at Occupy Seattle (at the performance hall at Seattle Central Community College). It should be a killer show.
I remember seeing him a few years ago and someone handed him a newspaper article clipping on Bush and Iraq, and he freestyled some very witty anti-bush and anti-war rhetoric that was very impressive. If any of you like hip-hop and occupation, this is the show to see tonight (and its free!)
Thanks. I will note that he is performing in the blog by posting one of his songs. What do you suggest?
eCAHN @ 1, I’m looking forward to reading your diary!
It’s a city block, but a small one. ‘Blocks’ in the WS area are of varying size, unlike midtown blocks, which are fairly large.
It’s not insubstantial in area, nor is it large, is best I can do for now. Will google about & see if I can fine square footage.
But once you put up tents, a good size space becomes cramped.
33,000 square feet. If I’d googled ZP instead of map, I’d have recognized it immediately.
“Stop the violence” may be more relevant than others. or “Criminal minded” . “My philosophy” .
Sometimes the smallest of things can make the biggest of differences.
Chaos theory?
Well that too.
Old hippies….I love seeing all that gray hair…these folks have aged well. Who woulda guessed?
Going to post “That’s the Sound of the Police.”
Did you notice that child above and behind Grahamn Nash’s sholder during “Teach Your Children”? How perfect was that?
ANd the human microphone certainly kicked in duiring that song. *g*
