I am putting this up just before I take off from O’Hare Airport in Chicago. This is for those who regularly read and comment on my Occupy movement live blog.
As you may know, I have credentials to cover the Bradley Manning Pre-trial hearing. While the hearing is going, the Occupy live blog will be on hiatus. However, I will post threads like this so the FDL community can continue to update each other daily on the latest developments with Occupy. And I will also use this to post a kind of round up of stories I may want to share each day on Occupy, Bradley Manning, civil liberties, etc.
I will be landing in DC in a few hours. Check in again soon.

Discussions going on right now live re: NDAA
http://rt.com/on-air/rt-america-air/
What’s to discuss? Obama will sign, veto, or pocket veto the legislation. All the leakage says that he will sign it. Congress has passed it with “veto-proof” majorities. Rahm is panicking about the G8/NATO Summit (which has a possibility of being unaffordable for the Yurpeans by May). Looks to me like the only discussion is that the US government decided to end the Bill of Rights 220 days to the day after they were instituted. James Madison wept.

Awesome! Thanks Kelly
Been monitoring denver today. INteresting.
So first they get the eviction notice, with no “no later than” date or time on it.
Then a Lt. shows up to say the new Police Chief wants to meet with the Occupiers next Monday. The Occupiers are all “Well then why didn’t the Chief come himself?”
So a bit later the Chief DOES show up – tells them ultimately he’s going to enforce the law. (This time it’s about encumbrances on the sidewalk impeding pedestrians.)
Then the Dept. of Public Works hands out flyers – says “pack it all up and take it away. Anything remaining will be disposed.”
Then the Dept. says they’re not going to do anything today.
So there’s a fear that the usual method will happen; DPD will come after dark and do the enforcement action.
One thing that’s different this time is that the Occupiers built new structures – TODAY, and also in a location on the opposite side of Broadway.
So the Occupiers are a bit concerned, and I’d side tension is building.
Occupy DC: Chamber Christmas Party – AJWatch UStream
Occupy DC UStream (AJWatch):
Singing Occupy carols outside the US Chamber of Commerce Christmas Party.
They brought Christmas lights to make it festive and plugged them into an outside outlet of the US Chamber of Commerce. A cop immediately unplugged with the warning that that was “theft of services”.
While I have been chatting up on twitter I got a call from my senator. No, no> It was not something I could talk to him about. It was a robo call, townhall with no way to ask questions because it was PRE-recorded!
Hims scared.
Just got word that Fienstein is trying to get wording changed that does not capture US citizens without due process. A little too late if ya ask me.
Thanks, Kelly!
Yay! Hope he goes to jail.
Grandstanding to cover her actions. The worrisome part now is giving the President – not Barack Obama, specifically, but any President – the discretion to decide who is al Quaeda without any sort of checks or balances or due process. We have seen how that works. And the question becomes who is he depending on to provide him with information to make that decision. My suspicions of who that might be are not comforting.
Articles of the Constitution give us the ability to Impeach him over that signing.
PeasantParty, but who do you think would initiate such an action? This was a bipartisan vote. I am asking b/c I really don’t see where that would come from, or who would support it since so many on both sides voted for it. Am I missing something?
You are not missing anything. American citizens can rise up and do it themselves. I just don’t think it is going to happen. But, it shouldn’t keep citizens from talking about it.
The Articles of the Constitution give us nothing. They give the House, which voted for it by a veto-proof majority, the power to impeach him and the Senate, which voted for it by a veto-proof majority, the power to convict and remove from office.

We can’t vote to change it because the voting is rigged.

Shortly after midnight PST 200 people occupied the open and unattended building in the city’s jurisdiction after being evicted from property under State jurisdiction on WA State’s capitol grounds.
Police shining light at building now. Olympia Police Department known for police brutality. Expecting police raid at any time.

Live stream back up and at the Park. Occupy Olympia barricaded in. All road accesses to the Park area being blocked off so those that have a vehicle and want to leave need to do leave now.
Re Olympia, WA via Olypunkboi live stream:
Legal Observers present. Animal Services (demonstrators have animal companions) and Administrative Services present. MSM present. Riot police present. Things look calm at the moment.
Re Olympia, WA via Olypunkboi live stream:
3 MSM camera crews. Color-coded police teams for this eviction in progress. Olympia Police Dept. in BoA parking lot kitty corner to Park.
Re Olympia, WA via Olypunkboi live stream:
WA State police moving in very slowly giving demonstrators packing up plenty of time.
Re Olympia, WA via Olypunkboi live stream:
Apparently shelters full and no place for unhoused to go despite assurances of the WA State Governor that people will be taken care of. Bulldozers coming through clearing camp. MSM interview of demonstrator caught by live stream. MSM interviewer repeatedly asked about feces and needles. In a parking lot on the edge of the live stream field of vision, there’s a group of riot police gathered. State Police being very gentle with this eviction so far.
Re Olympia, WA via Olypunkboi live stream:
The 3 month encampment is trashed. A demonstrator is on the live stream challenging the MSM not to just swoop in to film the wreckage and simply present that as the Occupy Movement. She wants a full accounting of the movement taking care of people the society at large has discarded and doesn’t want to acknowledge or take any responsibility.
Re Olympia, WA via Olypunkboi live stream:
MSM disappeared. Intercity transit bus drivers with vehicles for arrestees. Riot police advancing in a formation.
Park being fenced off and corralling people inside.
Re Occupy Olympia in WA State:
OK so Heritage Park is fenced off and no live streams are taking unedited live footage of police, the police are taking photos that have no context– no video– that they are putting out on Twitter which @komonews (Seattle, WA), @theolympian (Olympia, WA) and @TedfordKING5 (Olympia, WA) are just repeating because they aren’t taking unedited live footage of what’s happening either. So the police are policing and reporting on themselves?
Rachael Corrie Community Center also being raided now but by Olympia Police Depart.

Global Revolution is livestreaming from Cairo. The Transportation Ministry building is on fire. The dynamics are this, according to the livestream. Every time the protesters engage in peaceful protest, the military incites them by using live fire–which causes those not committed to peaceful protest to riot, which is what the military wants to see.
Coming soon to a country near you.
At least we might be able to read all about ourselves being detained and shot on the Internet, since SOPA seems dead in the House for now, although the Reid in the Senate supposedly wants to bring PROTECT IP (the Senate version) up for vote first thing in January.

The House Judiciary Committee considering whether to send the Stop Online Piracy Act to the House floor abruptly adjourned Friday with no new vote date set – a surprise given that the bill looked certain to pass out of committee today.”
