do we have any idea when the city may take action?
I’ve said it dozens of times: Andrew wouldn’t make a good pimple on Mario’s ass.
Cops just arrived to arrest them.
A half an hour or so a cop pulled up and said “we’ve been told nothing will happen tonight.” Homeland Security disinformation 101.
Yup, that’s been the pattern.
*shaking head* its against the law to lie to the cops but not for a cop to lie
What’s wrong with this picture?
Mayor Miner now whips out a totally different violation notice than the one she told them before.
Hurrah for the patriots who man the OWS outposts in our forgotten second cities.
Video now was recorded earlier this a.m.
Video person says those arrested have now been released “because they were non-violent.” (There was no criminal violation on which to hold people.) Police moved in earlier, arrested those who would not leave, Looks like they cleared the site. People lost their unsecured stuff to the trash. Most of their signs are gone.
Video apparently being shot from “outside the park,” police won’t let them in. “Park” area taped off.
Video person continues ustream despite having no gloves. “My hands are frozen.”
Staff person from ACLU: arrestees were taken to public safety building which holds police and firefighter admin. They were processed there.
Charges were violation of city ordinance requiring a permit for erecting a permanent structure. Person says Mayor’s office had told them previously that such a permit was not required.
This “violation” is not a “crime.” Lower than a misdemeanor.
Another person says no one ever said erecting a tent was something that required a permit for permanent structure.
Other pretext was use of propane for cooking.
It is 13 degrees there now.
Thanks for covering this, Scarecrow.
