Firedoglake’s premier live blog continues. Updates will appear at the top. Email news tips, updates and any questions you might have to kevin.gosztola@firedoglake.com. I am at Occupy Pittsburgh on my Great Lakes Occupy tour, and I am headed to Occupy Erie this afternoon.

Sunday

4:20 PM Headed to Occupy Buffalo right now. I will be staying there tonight.

Here’s a photo I took as I left Occupy Erie:

4:15 PM Occupy Auckland in New Zealand is ordered out of city parks

2:20 PM BBC News Q&A on World Economic Forum Davos, which is in the process of being occupied.

2:00 PM “Protesters Rush Steps of the US Supreme Court”

The video from Korgasm also shows some of what a likely “agent provocateur” was doing while in the protest. The scene on the steps descended into chaos and on Friday occupiers watched as plain clothed people came out of the crowd to stand behind the police line. There were at least 4 or 5 who were clearly undercover cops that had been trying to blend in among occupiers.

9:00 AM Group of Utah doctors support the Occupy movement and join to take on a mining corporation in Utah.

9:25 AM Occupy Columbus, during an “Occupy the Courts” action, interrupted former US Rep. Mary Jo Kilroy and accused her of taking “money from the 1%,” even though she was there at the rally to show support for the cause of curbing corporate influence in politics.

8:45 AM Moyers & Company’s second show — this episode is on “crony capitalism” and features David Stockman.

8:15 AM Much thanks to @PunkBoyinSF who passes along these two videos of police brutality against occupiers in San Francisco:

In the above video, you can see a cop on a motorcycle run someone over. Even more striking to me is the way this cop can be seen wielding his police baton like a samurai sword. He is flat out ready to do combat with occupiers if necessary.

In this second video, pfailblog is attacked. His tablet is cracked. It is essentially another angle of the scene in the first video but this time we  get another view of the damage done by police riding motorcycles through people.

8:08 AM Rick Santorum supporters were “glittered” by occupiers in Charleston, South Carolina yesterday.

8:00 AM Less than 24 hours later, activists affiliated with Occupy London leave the office building they had recently taken over.

Saturday

9:07 PM Video of Occupy Wall Street West’s “black blob

9:00 PM Letter to the editor on Occupy Baltimore’s action on Martin Luther King Jr. Day condemns state police:

The police actions to which I was witness that evening would have left anyone feeling angry at the overreaction of our government and police. Once they had pushed away all the “official” media, I saw police in riot gear corral and intimidate young activists, smashing their meeting tent to the ground and shoving it into a garbage truck.

The police and other officials have issued the excuse that the tent was “blocking a right of way” — I assure you, nothing critical was blocked.

7:30 PM Visited Occupy Erie and will return tomorrow. They were raided yesterday for a ninth time. The city has confiscated (taken) thousands of dollars of their property. But they keep on occupying in the white gazebo in Perry Square.

3:18 PM Occupy Wall Street is doing a “Worst of the Worst” tour, stopping at corporations like Verizon, BP & others.

3:16 PM Occupy BP

3:12 PM Chris Hedges & Lawrence Lessig at Occupy Wall Street’s “Occupy the Courts” action yesterday — video.

3:05 PM ICYMI: NYT‘s Kevin Roose on the Wall Street exclusive fraternity that had its 80th annual “black-tie dinner and induction ceremony event.” There were show tunes and skits, one on Occupy Wall Street:

William Mulrow , a senior managing director at the Blackstone Group, put on raggedy clothes to play the part of an Occupy protester. Emil W. Henry Jr., a managing partner at Tiger Infrastructure Partners and a fellow new Kappa, joined him dressed as a wealthy baron.

“Bill, look at you! You’re pathetic, you liberal! You need a bath!” Mr. Henry said, voice full of mock indignation.

“You callow, insensitive Republican!” Mr. Mulrow said. “Don’t you know we need to create jobs?”

It’s my experience that most wealthy elitist humor only works for wealthy elitists. I’m not sure what the punch line is but that’s because I cannot afford top-of-the-line caviar on a daily basis. These people can.

2:47 PM Occupy Pittsburgh has an avian occupier:

Also. about five inches of snow fell overnight and so this is what the camp looked like when I visited it before leaving for Occupy Erie.

2:45 PM …On the road to Occupy Erie…

11:30 AM More on Occupy SF’s takeover of the Cathedral Hotel – three arrested. This also mentions scuffles before the raid on the hotel and that pepper spray was used.

8:50 AM Baltimore Sun editorial: winner in South Carolina is Super PACs

8:40 AM Took a couple months for this to happen: Students from UC Davis, who were arrested at demonstration where Lt. Pike unleashed pepper spray, will not be charged.

8:30 AM A fifth building is taken over by Occupy London.

8:27 AM Occupy Chicago now has office space on the south side of Chicago

8:20 AM San Francisco police raided occupiers affiliated with Occupy SF who were in a vacant building called the Cathedral Hill Hotel. The raid happened somewhere around 9:30 or 10 pm PST last night. The hotel is owned by California Pacific Medical Center.

There isn’t much being reported on what happened in the hotel. A local ABC News affiliate reported most occupiers that had been in the hotel left when police were about to launch their raid. Also, there are allegations floating around that occupiers threw chairs at police. Or, police threw chairs at occupiers. I’ve seen both rumors but no photos, video or testimony from people who were present during the raid.

Oh, and a window for a Bentley car dealership was damaged.
