I joined Huffington Post Live for a “Political Junkies” segment hosted by Alyona Minkovski. We discussed how the first woman to be in charge of the CIA’s clandestine service signed off on destruction of the CIA’s torture tapes. We also talked a bit about David Petraeus’ apology for having sexual relations with his biographer, which is really for the media because most of Washington, DC, has moved on.

Facebook activism around Defense of Marriage Act arguments in the Supreme Court is raised. So, too, is Glenn Beck’s suggestion that an ethics probe into Michelle Bachmann is an “Islamic plot.”

Guests who participated in the segment were former CIA officer Lindsay Moran and HuffPost senior political economy reporter Zach Carter.

I managed to mention CIA whistleblower John Kiriakou when I commented on the CIA promotion story, and Moran added to what I said sharing she left the agency in 2003 when waterboarding was just developing into an issue. She did not disagree that the CIA had gone after Kiriakou while those involved in torture have gotten off scot-free.
